Australia
When you grow up in England, Australia seems like such a long way away and an exciting place to visit. When I finally did visit, I wasn't disappointed. I started off in Melbourne where I visited the Old Gaol, the set of Neighbours and the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground. In Adelaide I biked from the top of Mount Lofty to the middle of the city, tasted some great wines at Penfolds and spent a day exploring Kangaroo Island. In the outback I spent Christmas at Uluru (Ayres Rock), discovered the arts scene in Alice Springs and desperately searched for air conditioning. In Cairns I snorkelled on the Great Barrier Reef. Lastly in Sydney I climbed the harbour bridge, saw the Opera House, spent at evening at Luna Park and a day at the SCG watching Australia take on India in the second day of the second test.
